The high pressure jet cleaner uses a flexible hose with an attached nozzle that releases high pressure water to clean the walls of the pipe.
It is most commonly used to remove:
• Tree roots that have broken into the sewer and stormwater pipes searching for water
• Grease and fat in kitchen pipes
• Dirt and leaves in stormwater pipes
High Pressure Jetter vs Sewer Machine
Of the two plumbing tools we find the high pressure jet cleaner is generally more effective because:
• It has the potential to clear blockages in confined spaces where the sewer machine does not fit, i.e. under floors and narrow walkways
• It can gain access more easily through toilet pan or vent
• It is more effective against grease and completely flushes the line of all material causing the blockage
• It washes away dirt and leaves, which build up in the stormwater system via storm pits, spouting and downpipes·
• The high pressure jet cleaner is just as effective at the opening of the inspection as it is 50 metres down the pipe. Conversely, the sewer machine is less effective the further it travels down the pipe
In summary, these plumbing tools will only clear what is currently in the pipe. Therefore, a CCTV inspection of the pipe is required to determine the exact cause and site of the problem, and provide a permanent solution.
